SUGGESTED ITINERARY
DAY 1: Arrival
Welcome to the “City of Gentle People.” Enjoy their unhurried lifestyle. Overnight.
DAY 2: Half-day: Dumaguete City Tour (B,L)
Breakfast. Today, go on a city tour which includes: the Silliman University campus dotted with century- old acacia trees, the Anthropological Museum (weekdays only), Claytown Pottery, Ninoy Aquino Park, the Convention Center, the bustling Public Market, and the historical Sta Catalina de Alexandria Church & Bellfry. A quick trip down south of Dumaguete takes you to Negros Oriental Arts and Heritage (NOAH) which houses the stone- craft factory & showroom in Bacong , and the century-old San Agustin Church. Cap your tour with a seafood lunch by the sea. Rest of the day is free. Overnight.
DAY 3: Full day tour: Apo Island (B, L)
Breakfast. Today, hop to another island for a chance to swim with the “pawikan” or the turtles at Turle Point. Enjoy the rest of your time snorkeling, beachcombing or sunbathing. Optional: Trek to Habagat Trail for a panoramic view of the coastline and marine sanctuary. By mid-afternoon, head back to the mainland. Overnight in Dumaguete. Inclusions:: Roundtrip land transfers, chartered boat, guide services, sanctuary fees, snorkeling guide services, bottled water, use of snorkeling gear-mask, snorkel, vest. Exclusions: booties/fins; rentals available.
DAY 4: Full day tour: Siquijor Daytour (B, L)
Breakfast. Today, crossover (about 50 minutes by fast ferry) to the mystical island of Siquijor. Places of interest include the St Francis de Assisi Bell Tower, San Juan de Capilay spring, the century old Balate Tree in Lazi and the century old St Isidore Labradore Church and Convent, both in Lazi. An option is a dip at the 3-tiered Cambugahay Falls. To get there, one must 300+ steps. Cap your island tour with lunch before taking the ferry back to Dumaguete around mid-afternoon. Overnight in Dumaguete. Inclusions: Land transfers, guide, lunch and entrance fees. Exclusions: roundtrip ferry fees.
DAY5: Full day Tour: Oslob Whaleshark Experience (B,L)
Breakfast. Today, crossover to the island of Cebu (about 30 minutes or so) and drive to the town of Oslob for an unforgettable, awesome experience with the huge, gentle whaleshark. Sidetrip: Tumalog Falls—here, you may go for a refreshing dip. Inclusions: van transfers, barge fees and fare, guide services, lunch & drinks/ bottled water. Exclusions: Entrance fee, snorkeling fee (P500 for locals, P1000 for foreigners); and viewing fee (P300 for locals, P500 for foreigners); all fees subject to change. Return to Dumaguete for overnight.
