Discover one of the country’s most competitive cities—Cagayan de Oro, the northern gateway to Mindanao and the center of trade and education of Region X which comprises the 5 provinces of Misamis Oriental, Misamis Occidental, Bukidnon, Camiguin and Lanao del Norte. Also known as the City of Golden Friendship due to its friendly people—Cagayan de Oro is a popular destination for conventions and adventure activities. In this tour, one gets an overview of the region’s rich and colorful cultural and historical heritage of the peoples of Northern Mindanao with a visit to 1 museum: a folklore museum or the Museum of Three Cultures or an alternative museum (subject to museum schedule).

Visit the San Agustin Cathedral which houses beautifully crafted stained glass windows that date back to the 1800s, McArthur’s Memorial landmark, see the old commercial center Plaza Divisoria, Uptown Cagayan, Limketkai commercial complex and nearby shopping malls. The highlight of the tour is a visit to the GARDENS OF MALASAG ECO-TOURISM VILLAGE, a 7.2 hectare botanical garden overlooking Macajalar Bay where one may witness some Higaonon tribe members perform their native dances or make their crafts. End the tour with a visit to a local market like COGON or a pasalubong center to shop for some colorful malong, wood crafts or old time favorites like dried fish, the famous pastel, greaseless peanuts, banana cips, cashew nuts, chicharon, pine ham and more.
